Breastpumps & Insurance
Is it true that insurance will cover the cost of a breastpump?
Yes, with just a few exceptions, recent changes to health care laws require your health insurance plan to cover the cost of a breast pump. You should contact your insurance plan with specific questions about your benefits, or let us here at BetaMed help you with that process.
Your insurer may authorize either a rental unit or a new one you’ll keep. Additionally, your plan will have guidelines on whether the covered pump is manual or electric, and whether you’ll receive it before or after birth.
Here at BetaMed we carry the Medela line of breast pumps and accessories. Medela is the #1 pump choice of hospitals and mothers.
What will I get with the breastpump insurance provides?
Here at BetaMed, we supply the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breastpump Starter Set. It includes a double electric breastpump with 2-phase expression technology, 24 mm (medium) PersonaFit breastshields, (2) 5 oz bottles with lids, and a power adapter.
Can I upgrade to a package with more accessories?
Yes, most plans cover the starter set, but you can use your insurance benefit to purchase the pump and then pay the difference to upgrade to any other pump package you believe will best suit your needs. We carry several packages including the Freestyle, The Metro, Backpack, and the On-the-Go Tote.
Do you need Medela accessories?
