The process is simple and straight-forward.
1) Call BetaMED for a free consultation.
Tell us about the medical conditions preventing you from completing your activities of daily living (ADL). This information is critical in determining whether you qualify for insurance coverage. We keep your personal information confidential and only use it in discussions with your physicians and health insurance providers as provided for in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) privacy regulations.
2) Make an appointment with your physician for a face-to-face mobility evaluation.
You must call your doctor's office to specifically request a mobility evaluation. Medicare, Medicaid, and other private insurance companies require that you visit your physician in person to discuss your difficulties getting around at home and for an evaluation of your mobility. Please make sure your physician knows the appointment is specifically for the purpose of mobility evaluation so that he/she can collect the necessary information.
3) BetaMED collects all required paperwork.
We take care of all paperwork on your behalf. We work with your physician to collect and process the paperwork required by your health insurance company. BetaMED accepts assignment of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance on most medical equipment and supplies we provide. For further information on billing and payment, please call 1-866-466-3510 or 979-268-6882 to speak with one of our experienced customer service specialists.
4) BetaMED submits all paperwork to your insurance for pre-authorization.
After all required paperwork is collected, we will review it for completeness and compliance. Should all the paperwork be in order, we submit it to your insurance payor for pre-authorization. This process can take several days or weeks depending on the type of insurance you have. Approval or denial is usually communicated in writing to BetaMED, your physician, and yourself.
5) BetaMED delivers your prescribed mobility device to you.
After approval is received from your insurance payor, we will call you to schedule a convenient time to deliver your prescribed mobility device to your home. Average delivery time is 5 working days from the date we receive the approval. Feel free to ask a family member or friend to be present during delivery. Our experienced mobility specialist will arrive at your home on the scheduled date and time in our clearly marked delivery vehicle. He/she will inspect your home to ensure the mobility device can be safely maneuvered and operated in your home. He/she will adjust the device for a perfect fit for you and show you how to operate it.
